About

I'm Doug.

I train people in Oakville, at the gym or in their homes. I have a kinesiology degree, and I've been doing this for eleven years. Some come to me with a sore knee, others after years away from the gym. Wherever you're starting from, I start by getting to know you.

What I care about.

I train people because I love adding value to their lives. Most of the time it's in small things, like a text in the middle of the week or a stretch for a sore back. Sometimes it's bigger, like a whole family that ends up training together, and I'm thankful to be a part of that.

What I care about most is the relationship. I get to know the people I train and what they want, and their goals usually go beyond how they look. Most of them come to me because of an injury, and we work on it from the first session. Others are getting back into it after years away, or keeping up with a sport they love. There's a lot of advice online, but it doesn't always work for everybody.

And between sessions, I'll hold you accountable. When you've made the time to train, I want it to count.

For me, health is more than the physical. It's your mental, social and spiritual health too.

Where I've coached.

Part of my eleven years has been coaching groups. I coached classes at F45, which is where I met some of the people I still train. From 2022 to 2024 I also worked at Lululemon, and when their warehouse needed someone to run workouts in its gym, my manager put my name forward. I ran weekly boot camps there, plus one for the whole building. My favourite part was watching people leave a little more aware that they needed to move more, or stretch more.

These days I train people one-on-one, at the gym and in their homes. That includes teenagers, and I have a vulnerable sector check as well as first aid and CPR.

In their words.

“Doug takes the time to understand my body type, goals, and individual needs.”

It starts with a free call, and it's mostly me getting to know you.
